This will be my very first Comrades Marathon something I never imagined I’d be doing. Not long ago, I wasn’t a runner at all. But having spent time volunteering at the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust, I witnessed the strength, hope, and love that this place gives to people who have so little.

I saw lives being touched in quiet, powerful ways families finding comfort, people finding courage to keep going. That experience changed me. It reminded me that every act of compassion matters.

So I’m dedicating my first Comrades to them to every person who still believes in hope. Each step I take will be for the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust and the incredible work they do in our community.
