Childhood Cancer Foundation (CHOC)
Event: Comrades Marathon 2026
I still remember the quiet strength in my dad’s smile, even on the hardest days. When he was diagnosed with leukemia, our world changed overnight. Watching him fight taught me what resilience truly means. It showed me how precious time is, how powerful hope can be, and how deeply cancer affects not just one person, but everyone who loves them. Losing him to leukemia was the most painful experience of my life. Yet even in that loss, he left me with something lasting: the determination to make a difference. That’s why I’m running the Comrades Marathon for the Childhood Cancer Association. Every kilometer I run is in honor of my dad and in support of the brave children and families facing battles no child should ever have to fight.
