🏃‍♀️ Running for a Cause – Comrades Marathon 2026

In 2026, Christelle Mitchell will take on the iconic Comrades Marathon and is running for something far greater than the finish line.

Christelle is proudly running in support of Community Chest, helping uplift children through their work with 65 Early Childhood Development Centres across KwaZulu-Natal.

As a foundation phase teacher, this cause speaks deeply to her heart. When a friend encouraged her to join Community Chest and she watched the inspiring work being done, it touched her teacher heartstrings. She believes that giving a child a strong foundation is one of the greatest gifts we can offer, because those early years shape everything that follows.

The first 1,000 days of a child’s life are critical, it’s a time when nutrition, care, and early learning can change the course of a child’s future.

Children do not choose the circumstances they are born into, but we can choose to help shape what comes next.

This is more than a race, it’s running with purpose. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps children learn, grow, and thrive. 🌟
