Personal Message:
Last year, I ran Comrades with David—yes, ME! The person who always said never. But we got swept up in an incredible running community, and before we knew it, we were running our first ultra and then Comrades. Recently, I listened to talks about running Comrades for charity. I was surprised—and saddened—to hear how few runners do. I get it though: putting yourself out there, wondering who would donate and why... it's daunting. I’m a quiet, private person who hates the spotlight and struggles to ask for help. Last year was also a tough one personally. We lost loved ones, and I’ve always found it easier to retreat into my own mind rather than open up. But this year, I want to make a difference—even a small one. I’ve decided to RACE4CHARITY, running for one of Comrades’ official charities: CHOC – Childhood Cancer Foundation. As a teenager who lost a parent to cancer, I know how hard it hits. I can only imagine how incredibly tough it must be to be a parent fighting for your child’s life. Please consider donating to this meaningful cause. Every little bit helps.
