Personal Message:

I started running Comrades at 19 years old in 1995 while at University in Natal. I always said I would try to get a Green Number (10 Comrades finishes) before I turn 50. I'm now 49 and going for my Green Number this year, after a long break from ultra-marathons. Running for charity is extra motivation for me, and it's a chance to give back in South Africa, since I now live in Bloomington, Indiana, in the USA, and work as a Professor at Indiana University.
