Personal Message:
As a pharmacist, I have always been drawn to helping people improve their health and well-being. Professionally, it's my mission to be part of the solution in tackling some of the most complex medical challenges that patients face. But personally, my passion for supporting cancer research and awareness stems from a much deeper, more emotional place. Cancer is a word that carries immense weight in my family. It is not just a health concern—it’s a reality we’ve faced and fought together. Multiple members of my family have battled different forms of cancer over the years, and I’ve experienced firsthand the fear, heartbreak, and resilience that come with it. Watching loved ones endure treatments, fight through exhaustion, and cling to hope has taught me that this disease doesn't just affect individuals—it touches entire families and communities. As a healthcare professional, I am acutely aware of the importance of innovation in cancer treatment and research. Every breakthrough, no matter how small, has the potential to change lives. However, I also know that those breakthroughs often depend on funding, awareness, and collective action. That’s I why I want my first comrades to be for charity, as it will be more than just an event to me—it’s an opportunity to honor all the children and their family’s cancer journey, and contribute to a cause I deeply believe in. This race is not just a challenge for me physically but an emotional one as well. I want to dedicate this effort to the strong and courageous individuals in my life who have faced cancer head-on, and to all the families out there who are currently navigating this journey. It’s a way of saying we’re not giving up, and we’re fighting for a future where better treatments and cures exist. I also see this as an opportunity to raise awareness about the critical role pharmacists play in cancer care—from helping patients manage side effects of chemotherapy to ensuring safe medication use. I hope to inspire others in my profession to advocate for cancer patients beyond the pharmacy counter, perhaps by volunteering, fundraising, or supporting research efforts. Ultimately, I believe that every step I take in this race is a step forward for those impacted by cancer. I’m racing not just to fund cancer research, but to serve as a reminder of resilience, hope, and the unyielding power of community in the face of adversity. Thank you for the opportunity to share my story—I am honored to run for such a meaningful cause.
