Personal Message:
Since I can remember I have always felt the need to make a difference in the world. Having lost both grandparents on my mom's side to cancer and also being aware of its prevalence, I became motivated to pursue a career in cancer research to really join the fight against cancer. But I feel that my fight does not end there. I have been very passionate about long-distance running since around 2018 when I ran my first half-marathon which had me walking like a penguin for about a week! Nonetheless, I was back for more as I just loved the joy that running brings out in me. For me running is more than just a sport. It really is a way of life. The lessons running have taught me- discipline, perseverance, humility- have spilt into other areas of my life. Running has really changed my life in the best way possible. I feel that it also gives me the opportunity to positively contribute towards the change we all want to see in the world. I first heard about the Comrades in 2018 when my dad entered it for the first time. Since then, I have really fallen in love with the race which I have heard is a life-changing experience. I am so excited to run my first Comrades Marathon in 2024. I can't think of a better reason to run than for the betterment of our community. I would love to combine my love for running with my passion for cancer research to raise funds for CHOC. The work CHOC is doing is absolutely phenomenal. I am truly grateful I have the opportunity to raise funds for CHOC who are doing their utmost best to assist our brave fighters. I would really appreciate your donations. Thank you so much! Philippians 2:3-4: Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.
