Personal Message:

Running is something that I get to enjoy and am fortunate to often take it fairly for granted, but it takes consistent effort. Similarly, we sometimes take our natural parks and biodiversity for granted without appreciating the consistent effort it takes to maintain it. In fact we should be putting in even more effort to protect the biodiversity and make it thrive. Raising funds for this cause makes it possible for people to continue making the consistent efforts required to protect our natural environment. Being able to use my ability to run as a means of contributing towards the future of our biodiversity and national parks adds even extra motivation towards my love of running. If I exceed my goal by 50% (i.e. get to R30k) then I will get a mullet haircut for the week of the race. (to go with the moustache that I expect to have)
